Simply Sailing - Terms and Conditions
YACHT CHARTER
CONFIRMATIONS
Bookings cannot be
confirmed until a 50% deposit is received. Booking Forms
are available
here from the website or
contact us
for more details.
PAYMENTS
Full payment is
required prior to departure by direct
deposit or company cheque, or cash, 7 days for
skippered and bareboat charters and 28 days
for New Years Eve, and public and bank holidays.
We no longer
accept credit cards.
Cancellations &
Postponements
All Bookings: Cancellations
require 30 days written notice prior
to departure (60 days for New Years Eve and
corporate regattas). Postponements
require 30 days written notice prior to departure.
You will be required to produce written acknowledgement
of your cancellation or postponement
request for refunds to take place or for a
postponement to occur.
All refunds incur 10% administration fee. If you
cannot give 30 days notice for cancellation or postponement
the deposit will be forfeited and no
refunds available without exception.
Bond Payments
We hold bond payments for 14 days.
The bond must be supported by your
cheque. The voucher
is voided and returned to you unless the yacht is damaged.
Postponements for inclement or unsafe
weather
Simply Sailing
determines the suitability of conditions and the possibility
of postponement on the day of the charter.
Rain or lack of wind is not
sufficient reason for postponement. In the case of
an approved postponement, the deposit and charter monies will
be held by Simply Sailing for a future booking, MINUS a
10% administration fee PLUS the full amount of any
catering and skipper fees. The
remaining deposit will be held for 6
months following the postponement or to the end of June of
that financial year, which ever is the earlier. The
client has one opportunity to transfer. Simply Sailing
has no control over the weather and it is at the client's
risk.
Catering
Final numbers
for onboard catering
are required 48 hours prior to
departure. Catering requirements for
the Middle Harbour Skiff Club are required 48 hours prior to
function, or if on a Wednesday or Thursday by the Friday
prior. Catering cannot be cancelled inside this time
and you will be charged regardless of your consumption. Drinks
are BYO onboard. No returns or
storage for left over drinks is available.
Rigid
plastic and metal food containers or cooler or 'eskies':
are not
permitted aboard due to the damage they can cause to the
timberwork. Each yacht has a fridge or icebox.
Hard "eskies" must be unpacked before boarding.
Docking: Bareboat Charters
Bareboat
charterers are expressly forbidden to dock at jetties or
wharves. Dinghies are available at no cost (subject to
availability) or water taxis can be contacted via the radio on
your yacht at additional cost. Docking damage is
the greatest (and most expensive) risk to your bond.
Charter area and overnight charters
Under no
circumstances are bareboat yachts permitted to operate
offshore. The limits of your charter area
will be explained to you on briefing. If you have any
doubts at all please ask us again. For overnight
bareboat charters or Overnight Anchorage
yachts must not move between sunset and sunrise.
