Spin Sheet, May/June
2004
Winners are
Grinners in April!
As our Team
Cap'n surfed to victory in the FKP Sydney to Mooloolaba
Offshore Race, Simply Sailing's Xcess picked up the
perpetual trophy for the Yellow Jersey Twilight Challenge.
This month we fly the kite in the Sunday Spinnaker Series -
Chris Matthews and his crew on Xcess go head to head
with Iain Cook & Co on the Choc. And for the
cruisers plan ahead to our Pittwater Escape Weekend in June.
April
Limerick competition winner....congratulations to Lucy
Thompson, who wins a $100 voucher from Simply Sailing.
It was a hard task but panel members managed it for
Lucy's Ode to the Choc!

Simply
Sailing wins Yellow Jersey Twilight Challenge
Perpetual Trophy
After
a fabulous season of twilight racing it was time to
shelve the rivalry and get down and celebrate.
Host school Penguinsail threw open the doors of the
waterside Manly Yacht Club as the Big Ex scooped the
silverware. Madama Butterfly a close
second with Choc a distant third.
After out sailing the competition for most of the
first half of the season, was the Choc's drop from
the pace evidence that green cans can impair your
sailing performance? This and other
questions will be answered in next year's comp -
commencing in earnest on Friday November 5th.
Wednesday Racecourse - NEW
Our
three session Wednesday Racecourse is an
opportunity to put your Competent Crew skills into
action, but also to progress further and
understand the start line, tactical decisions,
sail choices, mark rounding. With Chris
Matthews or Iain Cook on the Chocolate Eclare.
Departs the Boat Deck at 12.30pm on selected
Wednesdays. $40 per session or $110
buys you three plus course notes.

Night Stalker strikes in the FKP Sydney to
Mooloolaba 2004
This year's
Sunshine Coast Shuffle was indeed a long slow and
tactical race. These sort of
conditions frustrate many a sailor but only serve
as a platform for the Night Stalker!
Chris Matthews and the crew of the Wadadli showed
the Sydney 38 Division how long races are run,
taking out the no.1 coveted spot in the Sydney 38
OD division.
