suburb right next to the Spit Bridge - on the eastern or ocean
side. Clontarf Beach and reserve is extremely popular
with locals and tourists alike and has plentiful pay parking
(Manly Council). Free parking is available in nearby
Holmes Avenue.
Directions
- Driving from
City/Mosman towards Manly
Drive over the Spit Bridge (north) and up the hill, turn left
before the traffic lights to Clontarf/Frenchs Forest. At the
roundabout turn sharp left into Ethel Street. Take the first
right into Kanangra Crescent. Turn left into Peronne Avenue,
wind down this road until you reach the bottom of the hill -
take the first right into Sandy Bay Road (the second right is
Holmes Avenue). Follow the road past the beach - Clontarf
Marina is the brown building on the
left and the only commercial building on
Sandy Bay Road.
Directions
- Driving from Manly Wharf to
Clontarf
Follow the harbour along West Esplanade which becomes
Commonwealth Parade and then becomes Lauderdale Ave until you
reach a cross roads with traffic lights. Turn left down
the hill into Condamine St. Follow down the hill to the
bottom. There will be a park and water on your left.
Then keep going to the far end of the rd where you turn right
up the hill into Earnest St. At the T-junction at the
top of the hill turn left into Beatrice St (or if you need to
buy food or wine turn right to the Beatrice St shops).
At the bottom of the hill turn sharp right into Amiens Rd.
Follow Amiens Rd down the hill. Sandy Bay Rd is the
second left at the bottom of
the hill (just
past Holmes Ave). Drive past Clontarf Reserve.
Clontarf Marina is on your left.
