Owner operator Chris Matthews began Simply Sailing in August 1996 on the shores of Middle Harbour. Chris' vision, continued today, was to provide a high quality on water sailing experience to all.
Chris is born and bred on the Northern Beaches and is absolutely passionate about sailing. Chris can't remember when he started sailing but local historians reckon he was about 6.
Chris has a clutch of yachtie qualifications and likes nothing better than spending time on the water, be it cruising, racing or fishing. When not chartering, Chris can be found most Sunday summer mornings messing around on boats at the Middle Harbour Skiff Club boat deck, teaching junior sailors, including his children, the fundamentals of dinghy sailing. Chris has competed in seven Sydney to Hobarts, and countless other long offshore races and inshore championships.
Chris is happy to chat about sailing stuff so give him a call with your questions about chartering or other boat related issues in Sydney Harbour.
